The company also provides business management and consultancy services; manages investments in other companies, and offers financing to businesses and other companies; operates repair workshops, restaurants, and hotels; sells lubricants, parts, and accessories for motor vehicles; and provides marine transportation services.
In addition, it engages in the management, purchase, and sale of real estate properties; construction and operation of filling stations and related storage facilities; and retail sale of food products, domestic utensils, and presents and other articles.
The company was formerly known as Galp – Petroleos e Gas de Portugal, SGPS, S.A. and changed its name to Galp Energia, SGPS, S.A. in September 2000.
